oh boy I DID put some thought into it however since these are my thoughts that I never brought up with @blackiochronicles let’s assume it’s only half-canon for now :v

For context, private property only became a thing in 1991 after the breakup of USSR (actually a little earlier for residential properties but details). Whatever government-issued flat you and your family lived in you could privatise for free, and assuming there’s no bad blood and everyone filled out the paperwork properly, most of our cast would have a share in a place they grew up in. There was also a lot of chaos associated with that, scams etc. When it came to straight up buying a place you’d have to be a business owner or working abroad earning $$$ rather than local currency so it really wasn’t feasible for a lot of people.

So with that said,

Eve - lives at her parents place as we’ve already established. She’s still a student making very little money despite already teaching, and she has a good relationship with her parents so wasting what little money they have on rent wouldn’t be practical.

Sandman pre-shit going down - Honestly? Probably lived with his folks too. I’m sure his folks are super traditional and were banking on marriage for him to move out but I guess that’s not how things worked out :v

Fixer - Might have inherited the shop and the place that came with it from the one distant relative he didn’t hate?

Shitparade - His parents live out in the dregs and he would’ve been living and working in the city before the incident. Probably renting. Probably can’t access his place anymore which i very much want to address at some point.

Mira - the sugar momma of the group? If her VR clients pay her in dollars she might actually own her place. We’ve also established that her parents were reselling stuff from Vietnam and assuming their business is going well they’d have the means to chip in, too.
